Two intact Depleted Uranium penetrators and empty Aluminum shroud near the Iraq/Kuwait border that were fired during the 1991 Gulf War from photo book "A Different Nuclear War Children of the Gulf War" by Takashi Morizumi page 7.  The 30mm DU Armor Piercing Incendiary (API)  penetrator is a 16mm diameter pointed cylinder weighing about 300 grams and the aluminum outer shroud is 7mm thick.  API rounds were fired in "Combat Mix" loads for the A-10 Thunderbolt II (Warthog)...

Colonel CE Day III wrote to the three Health Physicist Army Captains about depleted uranium before the Gulf War. Page 2 of this letter mentions Army Reserve First Lieutenant Douglas Rokke and asks the three Captains to share all of their information about depleted uranium with Rokke. Presumably, Rokke know nothing about DU before he was contacted by one of the other more knowledgeable Captains. As a First Lieutenant, Rokke was the junior officer of this group of four young officers.

Rhonda Harris's sham contracting organization submitted this proposal for $75,000 to the State Employment Development Division. The State accepted $28,230 of this proposal. It is not known how much if anything was paid to Harris, her now-campaign manager McKinley Ross, Jr or his brother Marvin Ross.

This VA Gulf War Veterans Information System report is often misquoted by anti-depleted uranium and peace activists. The only actual Gulf War Veterans are those in the column entitled "Conflict". The 73,000 dead figure that is misquoted is for all veterans from August 1990 through early 2007; the corresponding number of Gulf War veterans who have died during this nearly 17 year period from all causes including traffic accidents and old age is about 13,000.

Douglas Lind Rokke was recalled to active duty as a filler-officer with the 12th Medical Detachment (Preventive Medicine), Beloit, Wisconsin, and ordered to report to Fort McCoy, Wisconsin with that unit. Rokke was not personally selected from his Physics Lab at the University of Illinois and ordered to Saudi Arabia to in his words "clean up the Army's DU mess".

Douglas Lind Rokke has claimed to be a professor at the University of Illinois when in reality he was a Physical Science Technical Assistant. He claims to have been personally selected by the Army from his lab to go clean up the Army's DU mess. In reality, Rokke may have worked in the lab, but more like as the stockroom attendant and not doing any research. In reality, Rokke also was not "personally selected", he was activated with the 12th Medical Detachment (Preventive Medicine) and...

Most of the depleted uranium that was used in the Gulf War and in 2003 in Iraq was fired from the 30mm cannon of the A-10 Warthog tank killer. These 30mm rounds are completely enshrouded with an aluminum jacket. These two pages from the UN Environment Programme (UNEP)Post Conflict Branch report of its extensive field surveys in Bosnia-Herzegovina show jackets that were gathered and the completely intact blue round still completely enshrouded within the aluminum jacket. Remember that this what...

Hawaiian activists have made a big deal about the Army's admission that it found that these Davy Crockett M101 training rounds with DU fins simulating the weight of the tactical nuclear weapon. They claim that the Army lied to them for years, but if you read this application, you will find that the Army basically forgot about ever having fired these training rounds in the 1960's. Then they found some in Hawaii and they filed an application with the NRC (which did not exist in the 1960's when...

Leuren K Moret, Berkeley, California, activist, claimed on KITV that she measured above normal radiation using the Gamma Scout Meter and further claimed that this was proof that Army was actively using depleted uranium on that day in Hawaii. Blaine Howard, an expert in radiation instrumentation, analyzes the Gamma Scout Meter and discusses its ability to measure depleted uranium dust in air. He concludes that the meter is incapable of measuring DU dust in the air and that Moret's performance on...

Leuren K Moret often asserts that she was a "nuclear scientist" at two DOE National Laboratories. This letter, obtained from the University of California operated Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory under the California Public Records Act shows that Moret was not a "scientist" and worked very briefly at the Laboratory. Moret was a Senior Scientific Technologist in the Center for Applied Scientific Computing for less than a year from 1989 to 1990. Moret also claims to have...
